I must confess that of all the Design Essentials products that I’ve tried, these are by far my favourite. I’ve had the Almond and Avocado line for a month and I’ve used it exclusively within that time. I got to try the shampoo, conditioner and the leave in conditioner. The line is made for natural hair but it worked well for my relaxed hair. The products all have a similar smell (light and slightly sweet). It’s very hard to describe the smell but I like it!
Almond & Avocado Moisturising and Detangling Shampoo
I loved the shampoo. I found it very gentle and as moisturising as it claims. I used this shampoo exclusively for the whole month. I was worried initially because since I cut my hair short I have been alternating sulphate free shampoos with ones that contain sulphates. I’ve been doing this because I’ve been using styling products which are quite heavy. This shampoo did the job well. I didn’t need to resort to a shampoo that contains sulphates.
Almond & Avocado Moisturising and Detangling Conditioner
So this line claims to reduce detangling time by 30 minutes! I have short hair now and don’t worry about detangling any more but what I can say is that this conditioner makes the hair super soft. I really like it. I used it as instructed each time, leaving it on the hair for 3 minutes then rinsing. My hair was left soft to the touch every time. I have about 8 weeks of new growth at the moment and this conditioner softened it.
Almond & Avocado Detangling Leave-In Conditioner
The one thing I don’t like about a lot of leave in conditioners is that they are sticky and hair tends to clump together when it dries because of this. This one doesn’t do that. I also found it super moisturising. A little goes a long way.
Like I said before I really like this line of products. I will replace them when I run out.
